April 18 Update: 42 Weeks
Weight: 3310 g (7 lbs 4.75 oz)
Matthew will have a swallow test done tomorrow to identify whether or not he has any abnormalities with his ability to swallow particularly thin liquids. They will test his abilities with thinner and thicker milk (made with a thickening gel) using a video xray and make sure he’s not getting any milk in his trachea (aspiration). Some babies are able to swallow thicker milk more easily in which case we would need to adjust his feeding plan.
Because of the radiation, we aren’t able to be in the room but we are anxious to see how the test goes.
