April 6 Update

Tonight we got to have a nurse we haven’t seen since we moved to Pod 2—Tiyler— one of our favorites. She is the sweetest and is so amazing with Matthew. She couldn’t believe how big he is now. She’s the one who calls him a little spicy pepper 🌶️ and put him in his first pajamas. 🥰

Matt had another good feeding tonight and did pretty well during the day with his bottle. He took about 15 ml two times and he didn’t have any desats or anything while he was eating, so that’s a little progress. I’ve seen progress there too while he breastfeeds. He’s able to handle more milk without desatting. 🙌

Matthew was sleeping soundly in my arms, but as I was getting ready to go and Tiyler was helping him get situated in his bed, he started fussing. Tiyler was so loving and nurturing with him and tried all kinds of clever ways to get him feeling comfortable. She treated him as if he were her own child.

She went and grabbed a white burp cloth to put by his head to mimic the warmth of him in my arms. He finally settled and I felt completely comfortable leaving our sweet little boy in such good hands.
